In Kakuda on Sunday they had a small mochi festival at the train station. Mochi is a very sticky rice sweet. They pound the rice with a big hammer until it’s a stretchy blob. I’m not a fan of mochi, but Japanese people sure are.
The line up for this stuff was incredibly long. I guess the only thing Japanese people like better than mochi….is free mochi! They also has a small flea market too. It’s the busiest I’ve ever seen Kakuda station.
