2010 in review

WordPress has a new thing where they send you kind of a report card for your blog at the end of the year. I figured I would share it with everyone. I was surprised that I got over 68,000 hits last year (I actually got 70,071). I was also surprised that the post I wrote about that old live action Ninja Hatori show got the most hits (so far it’s had over 9,032 hits. Huh?). So check out the info below.

The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

What is “coeur de pirate” and “dhalsim”?
And do you have related posts on your blog?

The most popular search terms that people use to find my blog are:
“Gene Simmons”, “Anpanman”, “Ultraman”, “Walkman” and “Godzilla”.
(Three out of the five are a kind of “~man” coincidentally.)

    • Coeur de Pirate is a french band from Canada that I wrote about in this post. https://insendai.wordpress.com/2009/11/27/music-im-listening-to/
According to the wordpress search engine, I’m the only one who has ever written about them. That probably explains the high level of hits on that subject.

Dhalsim is a character from Street Fighter game series.

        Hey Eric:

How are things. Glad to hear your blog is still doing well despite the lower amount of postings ( I really enjoyed the daily posts for the first year).

Happy new year and all that.

Let us know if you are coming back to Canada any time soon.

        • Yeah sorry I don’t post so often lately. It’s a combination of laziness and not having interesting stuff to write about. After being here almost three years I’ve started to run out of new experiences and stuff. We weren’t able to come to Canada last year, but we’re hoping to go next Christmas season. I hope.

P.S. I sent an email about the other stuff that I edited out of your comment.

  2. Well, here’s to a happy and successful 2011!

  3. Interesting list of search terms. I got some very specific ones like Yuigahama Beach in Kamakura and Minato no Mieru Oka Koen in Yokohama.

  4. It’s always good to know that people are reading what you write. Nicely done.
