It’s Back Baby!

One of my favourite burger in the whole wide world is coming back to McDonald’s tomorrow. The Texas burger is back! It’ll probably be for a limited time so get it while you can, if you live in Japan that is. I know I’m going to get one tomorrow for sure. You can check out my earlier post if you want more info on the burger itself.

  1. I had one yesterday. It was good, but I kind of enjoyed the fries more than the burger. Have they always put the big Mac sauce on it, or is that new?

  2. I was so happy to see this came back! It’s probably my favourite McDonald’s burger ever. I’m going to Canada for the holidays in 3 days, so I need to have one more of them before I go back, in case it’s finished by the end of the year.

Oh yeah, hello fellow Canadian in Japan!

    • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sadly the Texas burger has already finished. It was only available for two weeks! I wish they would make it a permanent thing.

I’m jealous that you get to go back to Canada. It feels like I haven’t been back in forever. Which part are you from?

      • Ahh, well that sucks. I was hoping to have one just one last time.

        I’m from Edmonton. You?

        • Yeah I felt sad when I went to have one yesterday. Hopefully it’ll come back again. I’m from Ottawa.

          • I just got back from Edmonton this weekend. I had a burger at Harvey’s🙂 It had been around 6 years since I’d eaten there. Miss them!

            • I’m so jealous! I love Harvey’s. It’s my favorite burger restaurant in Canada. I always get the original with everything except pickles on it.

By the way McDonald’s i going to have the Texas burger 2 starting really soon. As far as I can tell it’s almost the same except they replaced the BBQ sauce with chili.

              • Oh, chili? That’s too bad. I liked the Texas burger because of the BBQ sauce.

At Harvey’s, I had a double bacon cheese original with relish, mustard, onions and pickles🙂

                • I’m drooling just hearing about that Harvey’s burger!!

I’m worried as well about the chili instead of BBQ sauce. Who knows it might be pretty good.

                • It would be nice if there was something like Harvey’s in Japan.

                • >Oh, chili? That’s too bad. I liked the Texas burger because of the BBQ sauce.

The “Texas 2” burger is much better than last year’s “Texas” burger because they replaced the BBQ with chili!

                • After having the the Texas 2 a couple times. I conclude that while it is quite good, the original with the BBQ sauce is better. The individual components shined more, where as the in new burger the chili is too dominant.

  3. I think that “Texas Burger” wasn’t good at all. Especially because of the BBQ sauce.

Maybe the “Texas 2 Burger” will be better. I like chili sauce…especially if it’s spicy!

The new upcoming “Miami Burger” will have nachos on it and the “Idaho Burger” will have hash-browns.

    • There must be something wrong with you because everyone I talk to loves the Texas Burger. Hell it was the most popular and has been brought back twice already. Maybe your taste buds are broken!

      • Well, I’m not a “picky” eater at all. I enjoy eating almost anything…but I was very disappointed with that burger.

To me, the best “temporary” burger that McDonalds ever introduced was about ten years ago—the “Bacon Lettuce Burger”. It’s excellent…and was so popular that it became a permanent part of the menu.

        • I’m a very picky eater, and I won’t be eating the new Texas Burger. I’m very picky about chili. Got tomatoes? I won’t go near it.

I like Marmite and pickled herring (not together).

          • Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who didn’t like tomatoes. What about tomato pasta sauce?

I like marmite and pickled herring too. In fact I ate pickled herring on Wednesday. I had a hell of a time finding some here in Sendai. The Marmite I brought from Canada. All they seem to have here is vegimite, and it’s not quite the same thing.

            • I’ve known several people who don’t like tomatoes. The only forms of tomato that I’ll eat are ketchup, barbecue sauce, A1 sauce and HP sauce. Tomato based pasta sauces and pizza sauce are out.

Union Store in Yokohama and Kamakura have Marmite. It’s nice to be able to find imported food here🙂

“Blue Shoe” commented on my site how it wasn’t impressed with it either:

Mcdonalds in Canada sucks compares to Japan. Right now the new thing is Bacon Chicken wrap. Basically the same Chicken wrap they have had for ever and just add a slice of bacon on it. Japan they are so much more creative. Well at least Mcdonalds have a really good BBQ sauce in Canada not like other places.

    • We actually have four new Big America burger coming up. I’ll write about them as I have them just to make you jealous.

I agree about the BBQ sauce Canada’s is the best!!
