I snapped a photo of this funny looking display in front of a kamaboko (fish cake) shop in Matsushima.

I thought the eyes and mouth on the fish cake were funny.

I have a rule that I don’t eat anything with a face. It makes me fell bad if it’s looking at me while I eat it.

I have a similar rule which causes problems when I’m with the in-laws.

I try to cover the head with something like a lettuce leaf or shiso or something.

I eat fish, but I don’t eat fish heads. I prefer it if the heads are not there when I eat it. (Pig’s head!! Gross!)

Maybe it sounds gross…but many kinds of fish, the head is good too. And so is pig’s head!
